Case Rikketik

Every year, over 10,000 people visit Rikketik, the largest vintage watch, clock, and timepiece fair in Europe and beyond. Spread over four fairs with stands and visitors from all over Europe, this is a true event for enthusiasts.

At the end of 2019, the acquisition of Rikketik was finalized. Shortly after, the COVID-19 crisis hit. In response to the restrictions, Rikketik tapped into their creativity. They organized online auctions and revamped their website to appeal to a younger audience.

At the same time, they introduced the option of selling tickets online to comply with the regulations at the time. Rich explains: “From that need, we started searching for a ticketing software provider that would integrate with our website, and that’s how we found Avayo.”

Rich quickly connected with Emiel Löhr from Avayo. “The contact is very pleasant, personal, and hassle-free. Getting questions answered quickly and personally is very important to us.”

Different Ticket Prices

Rikketik offers two types of tickets, for ‘early birds’, subscribers, and non-subscribers. Different prices are applied for these groups, and Avayo’s system easily handles this: “We have a database of subscribers who are eligible for a discount. Based on that, we offer different prices for tickets.”

Fast Access with Mobile Scanners

In addition to the software, Rikketik also uses Avayo’s mobile scanners for access control at the fairs, ensuring visitors can quickly enter if they’ve purchased their tickets online. “Avayo sends us the scanners well in advance of the fair. Visitors arrive, scan their tickets, and walk straight in. It works flawlessly.”

Case Shakespeare Theater Diever

Shakespeare Theater Diever is a unique place where the works of William Shakespeare have been brought to life for nearly 80 years. With 30 performances annually and around 1,000 visitors per show, the theater attracts audiences from all over the Netherlands. For online ticket sales and efficient access control, the theater has relied on Avayo’s systems for the past ten years.

From Paper to Digital

When Shakespeare Theater Diever transitioned from paper tickets to a digital solution, Avayo proved to be the perfect partner. Berend Vrielink, the theater’s treasurer, explains: “We compared several parties, but Emiel and Sabrina from Avayo stood out above the rest. They kept things simple. What happens in the background is not relevant to us as the customer.”

User-Friendly and Flexible

With 200 volunteers keeping the theater running for each performance, ease of use was essential. “Avayo’s system is very user-friendly and great for our volunteers,” says Berend. Whether it’s creating new events or managing the different ticket types, the system works quickly and intuitively. “We use many types of tickets per event, and everything is super easy.”

Service and Short Communication Lines

The collaboration between Shakespeare Theater Diever and Avayo goes beyond just technology. “The accessibility and willingness to help from Avayo is truly fantastic. The communication lines are very short, and that makes working together a pleasure,” Berend shares. Whether it’s a quick phone question or an in-person visit to Diever, Avayo’s service is appreciated by the entire team.

A system that works

The smooth integration of the ticket shop on the Shakespeare Theater Diever website, thanks in part to the collaboration between Avayo and the web designer, creates a professional appearance. “The ticket shop is fully integrated into our website in terms of design, and it looks great. We are very satisfied with how the system works.”

Thanks to Avayo, Shakespeare Theater Diever can fully focus on what they do best: bringing Shakespeare’s works to life.

Case Nederlandse Darts Bond

The Dutch Darts Federation (Nedernadse Darts Bond) organizes the Dutch Open Darts annually, a major international darts tournament for singles and pairs with more than 5,000 participants. From registration to ticket scanning, all processes are managed using ticket software and equipment from Avayo, featuring custom-developed features to meet the unique needs of the Dutch Darts Federation.

“We had been searching for years, but the software we needed simply did not exist. Avayo was the only company capable of and willing to provide us with customized solutions,’ says Paul Engelbertink of the Dutch Darts Federation. ‘It was a significant challenge that Avayo invested a lot of time and energy in.”

The primary challenge was the registration process. It was crucial to have a system link for participants wanting to engage in multiple parts of the tournament. This link was absent in the old system, necessitating manual processing. Before the tournament, players collected their player cards in a large tent on the tournament grounds, resulting in substantial work behind the scenes, consuming time and money.

The new software system with a ticket module seamlessly links various registrations. Participants can directly download and print their tickets, complete with QR codes (player cards), and have them scanned at the tournament. Avayo supplies the necessary hand scanners.

“People no longer need to wait; they simply have their tickets scanned and can proceed. Everything works excellently, from the ticket shop to the scanning of the player cards,’ Paul Engelbertink elaborates. ‘Our players and visitors are extremely positive, and ultimately, that’s what matters most to us.”

Case Parkgebouw Rijssen

The Parkgebouw in Rijssen is a local theater with two halls. The Parkgebouw Rijssen uses Avayo’s ticketing software to purchase tickets. With this software it is possible to buy placed tickets, even for multiple performances at the same time.

Previously, it was not possible for visitors to the theater to book tickets for multiple performances in the webshop system. Customers then had to order their tickets per performance.
Avayo started working on this based on the wishes of Parkgebouw Rijssen . Because, especially at the start of the theater season, regular visitors to the theater like to order tickets for the whole year.

“We are one of the first theaters to use the Avayo system,” says Tanja Zwiers of Parkgebouw Rijssen. ‘Avayo is always open to questions, which is why the ticket system has been developed in such a way that it suits us very well. If we do run into something, it is always resolved immediately.’

Theatergoers now buy tickets for as many performances as they want, receive a proposal for the best seat in the theater and then pay. This saves a lot of time and therefore costs, because the order no longer has to
be processed per performance, but can be sent in its entirety immediately. This allows Parkgebouw Rijssen to work more efficiently. ‘The financial side was also a good reason to choose Avayo. They are one of the few parties where you do not have to purchase an expensive ticketing system, because Avayo charges per ticket,” says Tanja Zwiers.

The entire ticket system works from the cloud and is connected to the laptops and access control of the Parkgebouw Rijssen. This way they can easily check the entrance tickets with their own USB handheld scanners at the start of the performance.
For one-off events, they can use a smartphone app or Avayo’s mobile handheld scanners, which are always available for loan.

Case Museumnacht Kids

Every year, over 20 museums in The Hague open their doors to children. For a small fee, they can visit places such as the Mauritshuis, the Gemeentemuseum, and Museon. This is a major undertaking, as Museum Night Kids attracts approximately 5,000 visitors each year. Museum Night Kids utilizes the Avayo ticketing system.

‘We have three main reasons for choosing Avayo,’ states Romy Fortuin from Winkelman and van Hessen, the marketing agency that organizes Museum Night Kids.

‘Firstly, our visitors do not need to create an account but can quickly and easily purchase a ticket. We appreciate this convenience. Secondly, Avayo’s pricing is very competitive. As a marketing agency, we are fully capable of handling the promotion ourselves. Avayo recognizes this and does not impose unnecessary services on us. Lastly, Avayo’s customer service is excellent. I can always call or email and receive prompt assistance.’

The Avayo ticketing system is intuitive. The Museum Night Kids team can operate it swiftly and independently. ‘It’s a straightforward system with no unnecessary complications,’ Romy Fortuin adds. ‘I find it easy to use. And if I ever have a question, Avayo is always available to help.’

For Museum Night Kids, the organization employs wristbands, allowing families with children to avoid waiting in line. For the adult version, Winkelman and van Hessen utilize Avayo’s hand scanners for access control. ‘It’s beneficial that Avayo is proactive. They check in to see if there’s anything more they can do and remind me to reserve the hand scanners. These are delivered well in advance of the event. Such service truly adds value.
